After awakening at 5:00 a.m. I showered, packed my stuff. Dan arrived promptly at 6 a.m. to give me a ride to New Waverly. We shot the breeze until there was enough daylight to ride, said our good bye’s and I was off.
Todays ride follows FM 150 going East. Initially the road had narrow shoulders (18 inches?) with overly large rumble strips. Fortuately once I got to the next county and Old Waverly, the road was new and BEAUTIFULLY wide and smooth shoulders. I was perspiring a lot due to the high humidity that eventually turned into a drizzle and occasional light rain. Funny that didn’t bother me as it was not cold. Lots if interesting photos along the way. By far, this was the best day for riding as to quality of road and beautiful sites. I’m now traveling to places I’ve never been before.
Finally arrived in Shepherd at around noon. Checked into my room, showered and was online for my work’s 1:15 p.m. meeting. I spent the rest of the day working and getting my blog’s posted.
